Today I had to hand write a form. I can honestly say I can't remember the last time I had to hand write anything of note, always seems to be typing now, it felt really weird |

ok, im going to share something now.
i have a card from a women i met about 10 years ago. we met around 2-3 times every other month and then i didnt hear from her anymore. no more texts nothing.
suddenly out of the blue around a year later maybe less i get a card in the mail and it was from her.
she had wrote down so many things she included extra paper inside the card.
she was dying.
she wrote it from her hospital bed and she was so sick that a nurse had to write part of it for her.
i somehow had made her feel like she was the only women alive and she explained all her problems and gave reasons for why we couldnt meet anymore. she told me how after every time she dropped me off in her car she would park up and cry her eyes out.
she kept say sorry for things and how much she missed me but couldnt tell me that she was going to die.
it is the most deeply personal letter ive ever seen or read and it reduces me to floods of tears each time i just look at it.
i never got to say goodbye to her as the card was sent by her instructions after her death.
i still cry looking at it, because the idiot i am never knew how much she liked me.
we spent nights together, there was no relationship as such and i didnt think much more of it, but clearly she did think a lot about me.
its very hard to come to terms with something like this, the card, a simple thank you card can break you into pieces.
the pen is mightier than the sword.
but it hurts all the same. |

That is absolutely beautiful and shows perfectly the power of the written word - can't begin to imagine how it must make you feel even now - so sad and yet so powerful |

I love writing, I use fountain pens a lot and have almost copperplate handwriting....
when I was doing my degree I hand wrote all my TMA's before I typed them up |

Work is still all hand written forms. But we have a fax machine to get said forms from location to location quickly.
At home I do still have to hand write the occational form. Mainly ones for the kids school. |
