The problem with rangerovers and other premium German cars is that loads of people have them now look at the typical school run loads of Chelsea tractors bmw mercs etc etc all pretty bland apart from the msport or amg versions but most are truly boring diesels now the op was prestigious cars well that has to be Aston Porsche or Ferrari not your mud pluggers or company rep cars if your in the market for a 4 door saloon go and buy the Alfa Guilla truly stunning looking car |

"I am a curmudgeonly grumpy old fart - so you can keep all your expensive modern cars.
I’ll take an old Morris Minor van any day of the week." it’s probably more reliable than the above mentioned cars ![](/icons/s/biggrin.gif) |

I have.
But I’ve got a 14 year old BMW estate with 190000 miles on the clock instead. Means I can chuck my mountain bikes in with impunity. A car that you’re not precious about is a blessing |

If you think a Vogue isn’t prestigious you’ve clearly never been in one!
As beautiful as a supercar is, they are not comfortable to drive day in day out. If you want to travel comfortably, in style and luxury... buy a Vogue! Afterall, the Queen drives / is driven in them...
Oh and they are British these days... Jaguar Land Rover! ![](/icons/s/wink.gif) |

A ford focus.
Really ???
So if you could afford to splash out, you’d have a Ford Focus??
"
Yep I'd spend my money elsewhere. Cars are a waste of money in my opinion. Id rather extend my house. Home improvements don't generally make strangers automatically think you're a pretentious fuck. Unlike most prestige cars. |

Wrong. Yes the parent company is Indian but Jaguar Land Rover is classed as a British company and as they are manufactured here in the U.K... they are British.
And don’t edit my posts to make it look like I said something I didn’t |

I’ll concede on Tata being Indian as a parent company but as Jaguar Land Rover is registered and operated in this country and they actually manufacture them here (providing a much needed boost for the UK’s manufacturing industry), in my eyes they are British ![](/icons/thumb_up.png) |

I wouldn't
I love cars, but I don't need 'luxury' or 'speed' to get me where I want to go
Comfortable and doesn't break down too often is enough
I have a ceiling of £25k for any car I'd ever wish to buy
I only buy second hand too, a couple of years old then run it for another two |

A newer Volvo XC90 for us, RR have the image sewn up, not so much the reliability or safety though. UK accident stats for the XC90 say no one has ever died in an RTA while in an XC90 since its introduction in 2004.
Oh & ours isn't a diesel. LPG rules!!
If it was anything I'd go oldskool with a 68 MB 300Sel 6.3

Recently did a Landrover Experience that was thrown in as a package for buyers and even the instructor said he would have an F Pace saying they were the best of its class on the market. |

I thought it was a bit girly for a man too. |

"An xr2.... Mk1 in orange

I used to have an x reg orange xr2. It needed an engine so I fitted the escort xr3i engine to it and flowed the crappy head to make it run better. It was quite fun then.
I still remember all the things needed to do the conversion if interested. |

Mines cosmos black. Four door with a factory fit bigger spoiler, auto dim rear view mirror, auto recirc on the Aircon, walnut trim. No traction control or any crap like that. |

Two others I'd buy in a heartbeat would be a Dodge Charger, and an Aston, cant make up my mind which Aston though, but the DB9 is favourite so far. ![](/icons/s/mrgreen.gif) |

Old cars are ace. I still miss my old Volvo 440 turbo! Ugly as sin, always brought a smile to my lips!
Fuck me you 2 are even boring me now
Suck my dick
Jeeez! Why does he get the good offers!
It’s not as fun as it sounds now I’m on hormones "
Oh I'll amuse myself, don't you worry. |

"An xr2.... Mk1 in orange
Brilliant car! Sexr2
I used to have an x reg orange xr2. It needed an engine so I fitted the escort xr3i engine to it and flowed the crappy head to make it run better. It was quite fun then.
I still remember all the things needed to do the conversion if interested.

Audi Ur Quattro 20v
Real engineering before they went up their own arse-
Or Nissan GTR, 911, Jaguar XJ13, original GT40, Evo 6, Kia Stinger or Hyundai N30.
Nothing flash just real driver’s cars.
Maybe an Extra 200.... lovely machine to fly at +9g |

Split the difference and get either a Fiat X1/9 or a Barchetta....just buy well!
The X1/9 is a total go kart to drive and sticks like shite to a duvet as its a mid engine RWD- you can even remove the roof ![](/icons/s/wink.gif) |

Handles better with a bag of cement over the front axle. Surely they've all rotted away by now?! |

Handles just fine- i actively tried to get mine to do a mini drift in the wet on roundabouts but it didn't even twitch out of line.
The tin worm can be a pest on the doors and lower rear quarter sills mainly, but theres an active owners club scene keeping them going.
The Barchetta is the more friendly daily drive option- if you can cope with a left hooker on a daily basis? |

The tick ford edition is the one but they'll set you back a pretty penny, plus it would be slightly heartbreaking to put some concrete In the back of one these days |

"The problem with rangerovers and other premium German cars is that loads of people have them now look at the typical school run loads of Chelsea tractors bmw mercs etc etc all pretty bland apart from the msport or amg versions but most are truly boring diesels now the op was prestigious cars well that has to be Aston Porsche or Ferrari not your mud pluggers or company rep cars if your in the market for a 4 door saloon go and buy the Alfa Guilla truly stunning looking car
British ? Tata is Indian and I’m with you on the luxury ride but they are to common on our roads
I’ll concede on Tata being Indian as a parent company but as Jaguar Land Rover is registered and operated in this country and they actually manufacture them here (providing a much needed boost for the UK’s manufacturing industry), in my eyes they are British "
They're Indian. And sneakily moving production to India and China. |

I know nothing about cars and hate driving. I also abhor the notion of cars as status symbols. If I had serious money I would hire a chauffeur to take me everywhere in something comfortable, elegant and non-flashy |

I've had the range rover sport also jag BMW alfa to name a few and the car I have at the moment is actually more of a comfortable drive so I would say jeep renegade even though its made by fiat its got everything the vogue has but time will tell just how reliable it is |

I’ve had quite a few rare and exotic machines and loved them all, but currently want a everyday usable car that excites the senses. So I traded in and now own a BMW M6, absolutely love it probably not ideal for winter but it’s fun letting the back slide and wheels spin ![](/icons/s/biggrin.gif) |

BMW i8.
Supercar looks are lovely, decent kick and don't need to refuel as often.
Also decent space in the back for my daughter, who even at almost 7 would milk it with shades on, lowering the window to speak to her passing chums at any given opportunity! |

We'd would love a VW T2 Camper but as we'd probably spend more time under the bloody thing fixing it rather than in it enjoying it I think we'll go with a new T6 version with a pop top please. |

I’ll take an old Morris Minor van any day of the week."
Top choice. I’ve got a Minor Saloon which is both beautiful and reliable. Mind you, I love my Discovery too especially in the winter. |

I’d love to get myself an Audi SQ7.
Going to have to get rid of my current Q7 due to all this new diesel tax. But, I just can’t get myself to part with it.
