I agree if they are trying to make a profit just highlight it to the organiser and pull out, it's only happened to me once but I've always paid for the room but once I was asked to pay for it I let that go because I expected to pay but when I said where I had picked the guy it was a Fb couple, said no he wanted this this or this hotel cheapest price was £180 for the room, when he did that I pulled out.

I have no problems paying for a hotel.
I cannot accommodate as I took my nephew under my care due to a family issue. I wasn't going to let him be fostered so I took responsibility, housed him and made sure he has a chance at life. |

actually it's not standard I as the man and a gentleman have always paid for a room I don't recall any situation where the woman offered to chip in, I do however recall a situation where a woman pulled out day before and I had asked her day prior if she could still make it because I could up until that pull out without charge she said she was OK to meet then pulled out day before but said she'd pay for cost of room which she didn’t however, never heard from her again ha |

I think that this can all be summarised fairly neatly as - any reasonable costs of meeting, regardless of the number of people involved sharing the cost of meeting is not unreasonable at all. In fact I prefer that it is, as, not only is it fair, but also removes any sense of expectation or obligation from the situation.
If however, people are trying to profit from meeting, or any other site related activity, then it's against site rules and should be reported |

There have always been stories of couples who insist that the single man they're meeting a) pays for the hotel room, and b) leaves them in it after play.
Nobody seems to have first hand experience of it though, so it's probably (hopefully) a myth. |

yes I agree any problems I've ever had with couples have been with fb couples but I don't meet them anymore so not a problem for me now

Then when asked about those rare female instigators, would those have to pay? No no. Never.
It's simple, you accommodate, travel, or split the hotel costs. Whether this is by taking turns paying or splitting it per meet, whatever. But this chivalrous bullshit needs to tick off back to the 50s"

If I suggest a hotel, or invite a guy to my hotel then I pick up the cost, as I'm staying there regardless. If he offers to pay towards I tell him to bring wine.
If a hotel is his suggestion then I offer to contribute because it's courtesy. If my offer is refused I'll take food and wine.
