If you want affordable CPU go for AMD, or if you’re happy to spend a bit more go for Intel, they’re usually better.
Get a motherboard with the same chipset as the processor you pick though |

"Built a few PC's before but not for a while.
He'll will freeze over before I go in pc world ??"
Ok well then its budget.
I would advise though a new power supply if yours is more than 4yrs old.
Is it for games on line browsing or?

"Cheers Jo scan computers ain't that far away thinking about £350 and £50 on power supply."
Scan is in Bolton and they have been around a while and a decent power supply is the safe choice. Good luck with what ever you pick. |

CPU -
Intel - i5 8400 or
AMD - Ryzen 1700
Motherboard - Ensure compatible with either of above.
Memory - 16gb DDR 4 Ram
Windows 10 - Download from Microsoft and buy licence key for around £10 from ebay (legal)
Read up on reviews. Good luck! |
