clocks go forward this weekend
Jump to: Newest in thread
Yep , back and an extra hour in bed .
So in theory if you work nights you start at 10 pm and finish at 6am , which will be a 9 hour shift as it would have been 7 am if the clocks hadn’t gone back . |

I was on earlies one time and a guy who works in the office turned up two hours early for work. He'd put his clock forward by mistake. His face was a picture. |

"Hate the clock change. They should just leave it as it is.
Heralds the start of a depressing 5 month period where its unpleasantly cold.
"
Would it not be cold if the clocks stayed the same then? |

I love the clock change
Signals the start of an invigorating wild and beautiful period , where it can be pleasantly frigid , hopefully with plenty of ice and snow , heralds lovely ladies dressed in beautiful clothes with glowing cheeks , foxy hat's and scarves , and my log burner glowing ,
Oh and an extra hour x |

Yep it's Spring Forward-Fall Back..Yeah on Sunday night 7pm-7am..So I'll get caught but I'll be thinking of the big fry up treat I'll have when finito..Cumberland sausages,Clonakilty black pudding, maple flavored rashers,3 fried eggs,2 hash browns & a slice of toasted soda bread with blackcurrent jam.Lashings of Lyons tea whilst watching the latest Ep of the Walking Dead online. You have to have a treat after the extra hour |

Glad I'm not on nights this time .
Was on last time clocks went back .Staff were all in bad moods so we ended up having extra breaktime as didn't get paid extra hour .Then had job of changing all the clocks .But was great as some staff forgot and came in early in the morning so we went home bit earlier than normal . Everyone should get paid that extra hour .When employees say it all works out over the year it doesn't as it's always different staff when clocks go back . |

It was only brought in a couple of centuries ago? to aid the farmers in the amount of time they could harvest their crops of an evening. Why the hell didn't they just get up an hour earlier and save everybody in the UK the hassle that we now have to go through.
I'm off to start an anti agricultural thread, bloody farmers, taking over our countryside and all, bastards, some cows invaded my garden when I lived out in the sticks. GET ORRRFFF MOI LLAAANNNDD I told the Bovine intruders, but they just kept on munching my apples.... |

It was done during the war to enable crops to be harvested longer. Without fear of being bombed, that just made it difficult to do lol!! (Geeky fact) |

Germany started it in 1915 but it was a 2 hour change during WW2 |

When I worked nights in a supermarket, we would always go by the store clock. They would then change it when we finished and the day staff were on the new time.
Would always work the right amount of hours, sleep then be on the new time like everyone else |

I used to work 12 on 12 off from 6 til 6 on nights, when the clocks changed we used to do half an hour either way to make it up |

I think I need to be a Night Owl so I can really appreciate the difference between it being dark/light an hour earlier/later than it was the day before. I've never encountered Jet lag before, they don't do it when you go to..... |

I'm not going to bother changing mine , as it will then save me doing the same in six months ,,,, what really annoys me is having to wake up at 2 in the morning just to make the alterations , find it hard to get back to sleep |
