"She was trying to be on trend and it backfired.
she’s obviously fairly intelligent but to come out with a stupid statement like that the mind boggles "
She's young and whilst not defending her, she isn't the first young person to say something daft and nor will she be the last..
Not many of us haven't if we are honest, albeit possibly not something so widely known.. |

Ah I mentioned this in the ‘things that bother you but really shouldn’t’ thread!
Yep, a classic case of trying just that little bit *too* hard to be right on and trendy. It appears any opportunity to demonise white males is now ‘fair game’ - even fallen war veterans who were unable to complete their studies. Frankly pathetic and she’s been made to look a total arse. |

Would agree that had she then yes she would have thought differently..
She's made herself look stupid and given what the SU have said will possibly rightly learn from it..
Hindsight eh.. |

Students tend to get sucked into the cultural Marxism trend for a revisionist view of history and we should erase everything that is not trend and pc. Without fully understanding the cultural values and context when things were created.
Human history is a continuous evolution. Acknowledge the mistakes of the past and learn from them but don’t seek to erase what was done in the past. How will we learn ?
I’m sure historians a 100 years hence will look back at us and think why on earth did we do these things... |

Last time I looked it was permitted to hold any view one wanted and to change that view if you wanted for whatever reason. I know nothing about what she said or what was even reported (the latter, with our media owned by elite billionaires, being a different thing entirely).
However much of the current 'Rememberance' hysteria is deliberately being manipulated for political purposes. The first World War was started because the whole apparatus of the state went into action to suppress the truth. In fact many emininent historians argue that Britain did not need to go to war at all. But hey why question the facts when the military industial complex was starting to make profits on a vast scale whilst people were slaughtered.
The commemorations should also be a time to expose the lies that have been told of successive wars since then, and more importantly — of wars currently waged.
“The smart way to keep people passive and obedient is to strictly limit the spectrum of acceptable opinion, but allow very lively debate within that spectrum....”
