"The much missed and very much needed in this polical climate- Mr William Melvin Hicks....how has it been almost 25 years? "
I love the conspiracy theory that he's actually Alex Jones and it's just one massive great big trolling act.
If we're talking Bill, then we should probably mention George Carlin as well...
Currently I'm rather fond of Jim Jefferies. He's as wrong as they come, but by fuck he can tell the shit out of a story |

"Frankie Boyle.
Never been one for the 'clean' comedian, the controversial is what we get attracted to. "
He wasn't very contraversial on room 101 the other week |

And also the other controversial jock gigglemeister Jerry Sadowitz- anyone who can go on stage in Canada and start with 'Hello Moose Fuckers!' is fine by me (he also outed Jimmy Saville 25 years before the media feigned their shock and outrage at 'finding out') |

"Would love to see Micky Flanagan and Greg Davies.
The best comedian I've seen by far is Jason Manford "
Manford was my surprise of the year. Dreaded going to see him but ended up having such a good time. Genuinely funny chap.
Not stand up... however Vic and Bob are my all time go to for a pick me up. |

I was surprised with him to. No smutty or offensive material either, we could be taken our son!
I enjoyed Jimmy Carr the first time I saw him but some of his stuff was pretty raw! |

Bernard Manning .
A genius , the way he delivered a joke was unsurpassed . Yes he was a bit below the belt and was as far from being pc as you could get , but in his time he was the best out there .
I saw him many times live , at his club in Sheffield , and at many gentlemen’s evenings up and down the UK .
This may explain why so many if my posts and opinions are not the type to make the pc parade happy . I grew up with this ! |

"Mickey Flanagan..saw him at Brighton last year"
So did we, was our 3rd time seeing him live and tbh he was nowhere near his best... was disappointed, the humour seemed forced at times.. would love to see Peter Kay live |

Jimmy Carr.
He even looks funny and his jokes are funnyish (if thats even a word) compared to lots of other comedians who are anything but funny.
Infact i would find a funeral more amusing than some comedians.

Ben Elton for his delivery and angst
Billy Connolly for his anecdotes
Rick Mayall for Flash in Blackadder and V/O in Hogs of War a ps1 game and Bombardier
Bob Monkhouse for his ability to skate on thin ice and deadpan humour.

Bernard Manning was a genius
best timing ever.
so many from the late 70`s onwards as they all had to perform live daily.
Freddie Starr in his day too.
Jimmy Carr performed of a prompting sheet on the floor when we saw him and his hecklers were planted,

This house will become a shrine, and punks and skins and rastas will all gather round and hold their hands in sorrow for their fallen leader. And all the grown-ups will say: "But why are the kids crying?" And the kids will say: "Haven't you heard? Rik is dead! The People's Poet is dead!"
The much missed, Rik Mayall. |

I've (he) been watching alot of his material on YouTube these past few weeks, mainly the Embassy Club stuffs and various interviews which I've found absolutely hilarious. Its a good job I can take a joke at my expense, would be understandably mortified otherwise. A very funny man. |

Best stand up comedian ever was Bob Monkhouse. Saw him live and he was by far the best and I have seen most.
Best live comedy show was The League of Gentlemen. Very very funny.
Also big fan of Gary Delaney. |

If we are talking stand up then ....
Lee Mack
Amy Schumer currently they are the best 2 . But of all time...
The Big Yin kicks them all in the arse. He is probably what any aspiring comedian wants to be |

Dave Kitson and Stewart Lee for me. Although comedy is now seen as the hew rock and roll, with comedians selling out arenas, I happen to think there is a lack of genuinely good comedians. It's all down to personal taste but most of the ones mentioned really do nothing for me. The ones who appear regularly on panel shows I find to be very poor.
Like I say, it's each to their own and just because I don't like a set of comedians doesn't mean everyone else shouldn't either. |

Mickey Flanagan because I grew up in east London and it’s like going back home.
Stewart Lee because he makes me think and laugh too.
Sean Lock because he’s a bit skewed
Les Dawson because he was a master of the dry delivery.
Dave Allen because of his affability and that finger.
Kathy Burke because she doesn’t give a fuck.

Greg Davies has got to be number 1, saw him live last year and was pretty awesome.
Also like Rhod Gilbert and Jim Jeffries, don’t mind a bit of Frankie Boyle, Ricky Gervais and Romesh Ranganathan.
Went to see the League of Gentlemen Live last month, not stand up but very funny

Can't nail down a favourite....some of my favourites have been mentioned above.
Lee Mack
Daniel Kitson
Jim Jefferies
Rhod Gilbert and plenty of others.
But a few that havent been mentioned, but are well worth having a search for are...
Dylan Moran
Rodney Dangerfield
Stephen Wright
Lewis Black
Chris Titus
Chris Turner (not keen on his rapping, as clever as it is)
Bo Burnham
And that's just a few

"First person to say Michael Mcintyre gets a left hook. His success baffles me. He's never even so much as made me smirk. "
I know what you mean, never really found him funny, although the one ‘leaving the house with kids’ thing he did left me chuckling.
