Why do people lie
if you smoke its your pleasure
if it's not for someone else that's their choice
for non smokers it's so annoying
that they lied and wasted a good meeting |

They obviously do. They think a quick wash with Lynx Africa and a Polo Mint will eliminate all traces of their vice. For all the smokers out there here's a hint, it doesn't. You may not be able to smell it but us non smokers can. Smokers bad breath mixed with mint is absolutely rancid.
We've turned obvious smokers who lied on their profile away at the door and they've had the nerve to call us timewasters. The fact is they wastex their own time through deceit.
It just seems that FAB is a hive of dishonesty. |

Me too and I state it on my profile. I’ve never smoked when I’ve met people and I probably wouldn’t unless they did. Don’t see the point in lying. I don’t smoke much but If I want a ciggy I’ll have one. People can choose not to meet me then if they don’t like it. Simples. |

Same here, I've never been turned down for being a smoker and I've never had anyone refuse to meet me for a second time so presumably I don't smell too much like an ashtray. |

Never sure how to approach this, I smoke a pipe so don’t have the ‘cigarettes smell’ syndrome people complain about. Quite the opposite actually when I’m out, invariably they say how they love the aroma of a pipe (non smokers as well) |

I agree, I state clearly no smokers but still they try! Def smell it, even if they swear they are sweet smelling. Oh and I think it flavours cum too? Yuck... |

I have never smoked but lived with a smoker for over 7 years
It never bothered me
The house never smelled of smoke
The only time she smelled of smoke was if she had been out with other smokers
I never tasted it on her
I dislike the taste & smell of alcohol on people so I would never fuck anyone who had been drinking
That rules a lot of people out, believe me
Way more people drink than they do smoke |

Drives me mad. You do you, more power to you. But I've always had an outsized reaction to cigarette smoke (and pipes, and other things). It makes me sick (yes, I survived before 2007, before anyone asks to suggest I'm lying or overreacting. I was basically low level unwell most of the time). I'm clear about this on my profile.
The number of people who try to argue with me about my health is astonishing. I've yet to have a smoker turn up to a meet with me, but I'll feel ill before I consciously detect anything, most likely. So, of course I'll know!

I get this reaction too. It's nothing I have control over but I'm polite and nauseous because nobody believes me. I simply find the smell so vile. |

I think it's most people. I'm an almost never drinker, but non drinker is a lie. But a social drinker could also be an unhealthily heavy drinker in denial? |

My profile has always stated that I smoke, when I first joined the site, if I had a meet at mine, out of curtesy I used to go through to my kitchen to just have a few drags (not a full cigarette) and the men that followed me and said 'don't mind if I do'
When I questioned their non smoker status, they just said, I only smoke now and again and that was ten years ago!  |

I fall into that camp too
I only usually drink when I am on holiday and, even then, 1 or 2 is enough
I'm not anti-drinking, I can just socialise without booze
I don't need to be squiffy to have a laugh / have a good night
My distaste for the smell is associated through a bad experience though, so the slightest whiff of booze on someones breath when they come into kiss me, has me moving my head away
A shag with someone who has been drinking just doesn't work for me now
In a general social sense it rarely bothers me as (generally) people don't get that close |

I smoke, it's on my profile.
At one point I had a couple of public pics, taken while out, obviously with a fag & a drink in my hand.
So why do 'won't meet smokers' keep messaging me.
I replied to a few, thanked them for the message, but pointed out I smoked.. Amazingly it wasn't a problem
I just block these days along with everyone else who CBA to read my profile |
