"This company is refusing to let its staff wear a poppy incase it upsets other religions, just seen it on there twitter page ,i think its dam disgusting,..
"
Disgusting, doesn't even come close.
This is pure ignorance, as plenty of Sikhs have fought in both wars, for our side. That's not offensive to them, as for the Jews, well they were grateful for all the help they could get in WWII.
So who exactly is being offended after this 100 year old tradition? |

" I’d check your sources of reading material op, it’s not true, thankfully. |

I'm pretty sure it wasn't on their official twitter feed... |

"The poppy is a religion? "
I think getting outraged over not being allowed to wear one is maybe?
Like all good religions it even has it's own made up texts and traditions...
Though I think it's still battling for traction against the slightly older and more established "furious about Christmas being cancelled" religion

"Its not fake its on there own twitter page ,its a update from the company ..."
I'm pretty sure Weatherspoons deleted all their social media several months ago... |

It even say on the fake account that it's a parody! |

OP that's clearly not their official Twitter account, hasn't got the tick and just the @ handle using 00 instead of oo in the spelling are good clues. Do people really think big companies are stupid enough to take the bad publicity banning poppies would entail? This is a non story every year. |

"I can't believe people still fall for this kinda crap!
It's because they want to. This is music to some people's ears, Daily Mail fodder."
Exactly - they believe it because it appeals to their own prejudices. |

OP, what do you know about the owner of this chain of pubs? What, apart from being the owner, is he famous for being a proponent of? Brexit.
Do you honestly believe he would allow ultra PC rules (not laws) creep into his organisation.? |

"Wetherspoons raise a lot of money for charity. You may get sniffy about their pubs but credit where it's due "
I think we'd all end up as charity cases if we ate their food too often. |

"I eat there regularly and my gastroenterologist says I'm fine "
I ate breakfast there a few weeks ago on a group outing, not by choice.
It was not a wise decision. |

"Their food and drinks are absolutely fine and by far the best value you’ll find .
Fair play to them "
Drinks: Fine.
Food: Naah. Never again...although I've said that before and gone back on it. |
