I’m a group on Facebook where someone posted a link to a go fund me page. I’ve never donated to these things but going through the actual Go Fund me page on Facebook I couldn’t believe the amount of people setting up different causes. A lot of them looked like scams to me.

Some probably are scams as Facebook is pretty poor at monitoring things. Charities well like some say they start at home but so many at this time or year don't have one so a couple of quid for shelter seems a better option. |

Probably someone you sponsored had to back out of their challenge. Silly really as you were willing to donate anyway... |

I've done a couple.
first one was to help buy an electric adapted trike for one of my sons with physical disabilities.
I did 6months of crazy events, car boots, raffles & auctions, used the page to collect all the donations.
I trebled what we needed, the rest of the money was given to a local support group that provides respite care for families with disabled children.
The 2nd, when a friends dog needed emergency surgery last year. We hit the target in under 12hrs |
