IV been on and off here 3 years , had varied amount of success , so understand how it works and respect people . The one thing I think is wrong with the site is the "read messages " bit . It incites hatred . I personally don't even look at it , but it's human nature to get annoyed if someone's read a message and deleted it but not replied .

I take it as they are not interested but a lot don't. And the amount of women getting abuse because of it is mental .

Fab .. take the feature away .

Send the message and then delete it would work

Or people could act like the adults they are supposed to be

There and to the left a bit

Trouble is if you took that feature away you'd then get the same blokes, that moan about messages being read and not replied to/deleted, sending messages saying "have you read my last message yet?".

The only real answer is for people to grow up and accept that no response means no interest

Just delete everything in your sent box.

I must be very lucky.

At least 95% of my sent messages get replies. It's rare to see just a 'Been Read'

I send and delete (fire and forget).

Great when I get a response (@ 33% success); only problem is, I can't remember what I said in my message so their reply doesn't always make sense.

I like the feature. If i was left wondering id never know, but if its been read and not replied its the same as a no so i delete, block and move on.

But i understand it causes issues for a lot of people which is just sad.

In the middle

Invites hatred is a bit strong

What it does incite is people not being adult and respecting others, if you get wound up at someone saying no thank you then the fault is with you not the site or it’s features

most fundamental aspects

I think that the “feature” which needs to be taken away, are those fragile egos who take offence at their messages being binned.

I like the messaging system. I send messages back and fore, often sporadically as I’m bad for not replying instantly.

Surely it's the same as having a sent folder on your email account?

If it was used as intended (purely an indication of whether a message has been read or not) then it wouldn't be that strange at all - just some people place more in it than that!!

"Just delete everything in your sent box. "

This is the answer, simple and effective.

I don't read that lol and it doesn't show if it's been read
