Apparently if your left index and ring fingers are a different length, you're a lesbian.
Mine are different lengths and I'm pansexual (though longest relationship has been with a woman).
Any other hand lesbians?

Straight lesbian here. A woman once told me that the length of my fingers meant I was very spiritual. Someone else once reckoned they could predict how many children I would have by some lines on my wrist. |

I'm guessing it's actually one of those unconnected statistics, there's is a phrase unfortunately I can't remember it. But there's something similar in America, the stock market falls and rises as the fashion length in ladies skirts lengthens and shortens, completely unconnected but just happen to. |

There are correlations with many things and we know so little about sexual orientation and personality that we can possibly only highlight correlations atm. We're uncertain whether there's nature or nurture involved in gay women's and men's - as well as bi or even straight but past theories have thrown up potential genetic, pre-birth hormonal balances and birth order, amongst other aspects of the 'nature' influences. As it's unlikely if there was one thing that directed sexuality, it's feasible that we could see some other characteristics that may arise from those same causes. I've got a feeling that gay men have had some similar correlations with body parts highlighted before. |

Correlation does not (necessarily) equal causation is probably the phrase you're groping for.

The article I read yesterday shows the study connected with identical twins. If one twin was a lesbian and the other not, the only difference between them was the difference in finger length.
They think it's due to the amount of testosterone they receive in the womb (higher if you're a lesbian), but there is no correlation with male identical twins. |
