Been having problems sleeping due to blocked nose, considering laser treatment, does anyone know if laser treatment works?

Don't know about laser but i had an standard operation for a deviated septum and a turbinate reduction for the same thing. Didn't work. Mind you it didn't help when my grandson broke my nose again with the sky remote

Sad to hear it didn't work, I was hoping surgery might cure my sleep problems

Presumably they've scanned to see what the problem is.

I have a very whistly nose - not unusual since I have broken it half a dozen times or so, and have had a depressed fracture of a cheeekbone. A laser would be less use in making sense of my nose than a miniature angle grinder (is there a surgical Dremel?).

In your case it might be that a laser can take out some soft tissue that is the cause - so if they;ve got the evidence, let 'em get the spanners out and go to work. Insomnia is, when all's said and done, officially shit. So any solution is worth it.

Hi,

I had the same as Tra-mar and had a Septoplasty operation with turbinate reduction.

It worked fine although two of the other guys who had it the same time as me were on their 3rd try at it.

I have difficulties breathing through the nose too.

Brother had op twice. Problem soon returned and found the pain too much for such short term gain.

The alternative is to ask a married meets hubby if that's the best he can do.

It eventually heals.

A friend of mine had an op (not laser from memory) to help unblock nasal passages. I think they took out part of the nose bone. She suffered with sleep apnea and snored. The op was a success, and she sleeps a lot better now, So do I!
