Is it ok to go to a gig when you don't know all the words to the songs?

Are you good at remembering song words or do you just go "mmmm mmm yeah ooh" and do air drums?

Hefty Hideaway

I always think I know all the words but tend to get them all wrong. I do love a gig singalong.

I went to an obscure gig with my daughter recently and learnt just enough to get by.

Iceland, but Aldi is closer..

That must be where I am going wrong..

I didn't know that I had to know the lyrics, I always thought that was the job of the person on the stage...

Well, you learn something new every day..

If you go to a Death Metal gig, I don't think anyone knows the words, including the lead "singer"

I feel daft singing at a gig. It's like taking beans and a camping stove to a restaurant.

Dancing about and moody nodding will do.

Limbo

I usually have a good go at singing along and luckily pick up lyrics quite quickly once I've listened to a track a couple of times. I do love a loud gig for being able to sing my heart out without anyone complaining!

It’s probably better to not know them I’d say.

It annoys the fuck outta me when someone’s screaming them down your ear whilst you’re trying to enjoy the moment.

Having said that I’m absolutely terrible for belting songs out whilst leaping around like a mad giraffe but I must add I’m very good with lyrics... can’t sing but know all the words.

So yeah ~ I’m a hypocrite

I don't feel so bad now, you good people ROCK!

Just there always seems to be people singing along.

Then there's me....

Oooooh I'm half way they're!

Oooooh leaving on a player!

As an aside to this, there's nothing worse than being on a long coach journey, and some pillock that is sat near you has got his headphones in, and is singing along, usually out of tune, to every track that he's listening to
