So, for those of you who work (full time) for companies...
Do they take the bank holidays out of your standard holiday entitlement?
Legally they're allowed to at their discretion, so long as its in the contract that this will happen.
But until today I'd never noticed it coming out of mine until I got a call out of the blue saying I'm over spent on my holiday time...
So angry right now!

That's what I always thought it was as well.
Every year for the previous four years I'd be well under my alloted time and upper management always found it odd that I rarely took time off.
But this last year suddenly I'm over by a considerable amount.. Had to scrap the rest of my planned days.
And seeing as where I work we're legally not allowed to open on those days I find it really distasteful that head office automatically count them as holiday.

This for me too although our department is closed the 3 working days between Christmas and New Year so we can’t work even if we want to but we still have to take the days out of our holiday entitlement. |
