Did you make a recovery CD when you first got the laptop ? Or it could have a recovery petition on your hard drive.
Not sure but it sounds like files have been corrupted in some way and could be why you are getting that message, so a start from scratch should solve it. |

Do you still have the manual?
If not download one from the internet and it should tell you how to get to your recovery petition. |

have you teried booting it in safe mode ?
Repeatedly press F8 as soon as you fire it up, see what happens from there. It only loads a basic version of windows with minimal drivers etc.
Failing that you may have a boot sector virus or corrupt startup files. .. |

Safe mode isn't the bios, she will be ok in there  |

Oh Oh Ive heard of bios......Rob mentioned it yesterday,I nearly fell on the floor with shock
