Who’s cooking a roast dinner today and are there any scraps going for a very tired and hardworking shift worker. I’m on nights and am surviving on 4-5 hours kip between each one. Somebody please take pity on me and feed me.
Tell me what you’re having so I can at least imagine it. |

Roast beef
Mash and roast spuds
Cabbage
Leeks
Carrot and swede mash

Would have done otherwise |

There’s always room for pudding. Would that be with custard or ice cream? |

"It's not cost effective to do a full roast dinner for one and a half people..
So we're off to Wetherspoons for ours "
Nice. There’s a lovely Wetherspoons by me. The lifeboat in Formby if you’re ever up this way. The walls are adorned with old maritime relics and photos if you like that kind of thing. |

Lol. I don't eat until much later, so I could change ma mind in the meantime and have a bolognese or a chilli instead. Either way, all I've got to do is sling some rice or spaghetti in a pan. Ma stocks are getting a bit low, so I'm gonna have another batch cooking day sometime in the week |

Yesterday I cooked beef Stew and dumplings for dinner. Made too much so I’m using the leftovers to turn into a pie for later. Having it with roasties cooked in goose fat. |

I started doing it when I was living on my own years ago, I worked 12hr night shifts, 4 on 4 off, and nobody wants to start faffing around in the kitchen when you only have limited time, to take the dog for a walk, watch a bit of telly and have a kip, so it made sense. Even though I no longer work, I still do it cos it gives me an excuse to get a couple of bottles of Cabernet Sauvignon in and put some sounds on |

Haha do people still have cd’s. You’ve just lost a few street cred points there I think. I have a story about Heidi ranges dad but it’s not for a public forum. |

I still dust ma turntable down and have a vinyl day occasionally, the sound you get from them is so much richer than all this modern downloadable wizardry |
