Can someone please explain the purpose of padding in bras cup size DD and above?

There is clearly a reasonable explanation that I’m too stupid to fathom.

All suggestions welcome from the sublime to the ridiculous

I'm not sure of the actual reason, but I wear them to keep my boobs warmer, so nipples don't show, and for a smoother look under clothes.

If ya get stabbed in the boob it’ll soften the blow a wee bit as it’ll go through the padding before reading ya titty

Hmmm yes now that seems reasonable as I was looking for something plain as my usual stuff is far from. I was going for discreet and nothing visible through clothing

To make our boobs just that little bit bigger.

The padding each side can push them up a bit more and give you more of a cleavage.

Just why?

Although it seems it’s required under t-shirts for a smooth look but you get the pretty stuff with padding too

But a good bra should do that without padding

I like the smooth shape a moulded / padded bra gives.

Certainly not looking for wonderbra type padding wedges

Yup. Padded rather than boosting; I’d just end up with two soft, squashy chin rests.

I guess it also depends on your breast shape. Mine are bottom heavy and a moulded / padded bra evens out the top as they look pointy in soft bras

That’s another gripe I don’t want my boobie woobies thrust into my face as most bras seem to do these days. I can see them perfectly well from their natural position

I have a few padded ones but hate them! So I prefer to either go bra-less, or just wear a nice simple bra.

My nipples tend to stick out a lot especially when the air con kicks in at work so I wear bras that have a little padding in so I get a smooth line and to help people’s eyes from being drawn to my chest when I’m discussing spreadsheets and debtors ledgers.

I'd like to know why the fuck minimiser bras only go up to a G cup. I'd love one that made my boobs look a bit smaller sometimes

Comfort.

I wear both padded and non padded.

Padded mostly in the winter as my nipples are very sensitive and if it’s really cold they get hard to the point if I brushed passed something it would hurt.

By wearing a padded bra I can avoid that.

I'm only an 'A' cup, so I like them, doesn't answer your question, but they work for me, just not too padded, as no one likes false advertising

I bet those bad boys tuck up nicely under your chin if they are padded though

I have enough problems trying to squeeze my boobs into bras as it is let alone adding padding to them. They'll end up under my chin holding that in place!

Mine are more moulded cups than padded but I prefer them because they stop cold, hurty nipples, make a nicer shape imo and are more comfy for me to wear
