So for the next 2 nights the annual mop fair has descended on the town of Evesham.
Huge, neon lightcovered mechanical behemoths have been squeezed between historic buildings and the traffic has been diverted round the town.
I have to say I quite enjoy walking around it. The smells and the noise. Seeing the kids faces as they try to blah just one more ride out of 5geir parents.
I rarely go on any of the rides though. I can't cope with spinny round rides... They make me feel sick and don't fancy the humiliation of the harness not shitting on other rides.
What rides do you like at the fair? |

I'm petrified of fair ground rides. Can't go on them and not even comfy watching others on them. That's enough to make me feel sick. Even YouTube videos freak me out.
I'm such a fanny.
You wouldn't think I come from a fairground town but I do.
I'd probably be okay on a big wheel |

Nottingham goose fair is on this weekend too. It claims to be Europe's largest traveling fair just like hull does
One thing that's completely unique to goose fair is buying a "cock on a stick". It's a lollipop shaped like a cockerel and is only available at the fair. I bought mine yesterday so will upload a photo.
I'm not a size queen so I went for the medium one instead of the giant one |

I think the links market may top you both.. 5 scottish travelling families and more. All along the prom in Kirkcaldy at the very start of the season.. 1 mile of fairground along the seashore...

I love fairground rides, my all time favourite is the waltzer but some places aren't allowed to spin it anymore ~ health and safety apparently.
Not too keen on ones that set up through towns though, all those shops windows. Loughborough used to have one, we went on the rides but I was shitting it...just like you OP |

I’ve missed goose fair since I moved away. Think I might hop on a train to Nottingham and have a few hours there this afternoon. Stuff myself with mushy peas n mint sauce and bring back some brandy snaps, Grantham gingerbread and a cock on a stick |

I absolutely love the fair, love the atmosphere, love the rides, just squish my fat arse in and hope for the best. Love anything spinney so fairs top theme parks for me any day but my family won't go on the rides as they are scared |
