I'm flying out to Tenerife tomorrow and I was wondering. Am I weird that I just don't like taking off? I don't mind the rest of it. Does anyone have any tips on how to get through it easier? Please no piss takers lol

Im terrified of flying tbh, the whole experience of being in a plane. Its ruined many chances to go back abroad. The last time I had a panick attack on the plane

Not really OP. Weirdly I'm not a fan of the approach and landing

Think of it like a rollercoaster. Or try distract yourself to what's going on.

EasyJet and BA run Fear of Flying courses.

Some friends of mine who are reluctant flyers have taken them and say it helped.

It probably won’t “cure” you completely, but they said that you learn a lot so the fear of the unknown is reduced.

So if you’re looking to make flying more bearable then maybe look into it.

Sit back relax, close your eyes and put some music on - just forget about what’s going on around you. Breathe long and slow. You’ll be right and fling down the water slides at Siam Park in no time at all

The first time that I ever flew anywhere, I actually flew the plane. OK, I was in the CCF and I was strapped into the back of a Chipmunk and I had control for about 10 minutes. The feeling was amazing, even though I thought the wings were gonna fall off on take off

Maybe try buying a bottle of Dr Bach’s Rescue Remedy, it’s a great calmer

Don't like or get in a panic? You can get a mild sedative from your doctor to get you through it if you're that bad.
