Or does it depend on context ?

I don’t like it personally but if said in jest like from my hubby then I think it’s funny but not from a total stranger.

Brighton - even Hove!

I personally don’t mind being called a slut. I have a high level of emotional intelligence so couldn’t give a rats arse.

Depends on context. I don't like it used in relation to me at all. Some people love the word and own it/ reclaimed it as a positive.

I think it’s a turn on when a woman calls herself a slut.

I've never turned a man on.

Context is important

Someone calling me a slut on the street would make me feel different to someone calling it me in the bedroom!

I guess I am quite old fashioned in language and courtesy so I dislike the word in any use. Its like the 'C' word - unnecessary IMHO.

Its another Americanism we have adopted and maybe has a meaning over there. Its like they use the word 'nasty' in a very different context.

"Yeah I laugh when I call you a slut, it's funny"

Not sure why anyone would use it to be a positive but ok...

If someone identifies as one, cool beans. I simply find it a vulgar, misogynistic slur

I don’t like either but I’d say slut was slightly worse than slag. Just slightly mind. Either would get a short sharp slap from me.

If someone calls me a slut I’ll take offence, unless they know me very very well.

It’s less what I think of the word and more how it’s used as negative by most people so I’m offended by what they are implying!

However, “slagroom’ is Dutch for whipped cream. Slag heap is coal related.

Said in the right context I love it and have used it myself as a term of affection/complimentary term.
