Well after Indie Monday, Ska/Mod Tuesday, I'm on an electronic day today so lets have your synth classics please.
I have to start with my all time favourite and possibly my favourite single of all time.

Oh our favourite genre, so many to choose from. But this week......
‘Prayer for the unborn’ Gary Numan (Andy Gray remix)
‘Barriers’ Soft Cell.
‘Hallo Spaceboy’ David Bowie and Pet Shop Boys.
‘Bliss’ Syntax
‘Dreams of leaving’ The Human League.
‘Down in the Park’ Tubeway Army.
Ask us again tomorrow eh ?

"Anything Gary Numan - Are friend electric. Me, I disconnect from you. Joe the waiter.
Love We are Glass"
All of the above, and all of the darker stuff from mid-90s too. The man is a musical genius. |

Some great suggestions above - love early 80s synth stuff.
For something a bit more modern, try "Papillon" by indie rock group Editors. Not really a synth band, but the album this is on is quite heavily synth based compared to their earlier stuff.
Also An Honest Mistake by The Bravery - 80s alternative synth fans will love it. |

London/Essex... ish... Romford to be exact |
Muse - The Dark Side

Which I think is a total rip-off of this both sonically and visually in style. In fact I prefer this.

Unless I missed it, no mention of Donna Summer- I feel love???
Georgio Moroda changed the game completely with that, creating every sound pretty much from scratch. 40 years later it still stand head and shoulders above 99% if anything else since |

Sarah Cracknell "
Wasn’t the divine Miss Cracknell who recorded it, it was another singer Moira Lambert. SE were using session singers where needed, until they discovered Sarah and wisely decided to keep her |

"How about Dr. Mabuse by Propaganda for a bit of doomy drama"
A secret wish, the whole album bought this the day it came out.
Then you have the poem contained in the song by Edgar Allen Poe.
The album and the poem reflect my whole life.
Gosh - way too deep!
Ps first saw Dr Mabuse on Old grey whistle test Hogmanay show 1982. |

Back home and on the laptop instead of the phone- so able to add a few more for your next session
The more commercial/pop stuff
Aha- The sun always shines on TV
(often overshadowed by the Take on me video- the synth build is pretty epic)
Bronski Beat- Small Town Boy (cracking hook over JS's unique voice- great lyrics too)
Faithless- We Come One or God is a DJ (Big fucking EPIC! All hail the Roland JD800)
Pop Will Eat Itself - Touched By The Hand Of Cicciolina (Clint Mansell and the boys- the full pre soundtrack composer grebo days)
now the more clubby stuff
Digital Express- The Club (always ended up on the deck with i did a lil' mixing)
Da Hool- Meet her at the love parade (classic techno build up)
DJ Misjah & DJ Tim- Access (X-Trax put out some fucking awesome tunes)
Josh Wink- Higher state of conciousness (rude not to)
Azzido Da Bass - Dooms Night (for when you get the urge to gliiiiiiiiiide round the dancefloor)
Energy 52- Cafe Del Mar
Age of Love- Age of love (and the club goes mental!!!!)
Mrs. Wood - Joanna (hands in the fuckin air!!!!!)
Joey Beltram- Energy Flash (bob-bob-bob-bob....)
Happy Clappers - I Believe (for all you house lovers)
Iio- Rapture
Tori Amos Professional Widow (AKA The scabby pig song )
Rui Da Silva- Touch Me
A Guy Called Gerald - Voodoo Ray
Now- who says the 90's had crap music?

Age of love, this was on a CD I was listening to when I was recovering in hospital after a big car crash. |
