Mr B and I are both separated from our ex spouses and have been for quite sometime, I don’t see how your answer is relevant???
Neither of us are divorced yet as divorce is expensive and we are not planning on marrying each other anytime, we are perfectly happy with what we have. Just because someone is separated but still married it does not mean they shouldn’t be able have there fun on a site like this, am I totally wrong?? It’s 3am after alll !!!!  |

Agree with thus, I've spoken to several 'separated' who either still live with their spouses or still see them socially and for sex. Hence why I won't meet them. Divorced or single for me only. This applies to all. |

Dont agree. Master is divorced and I'm separated, going through a divorce. Think that's a very harsh generalism. It's like saying avoid singles, they won't commit to anything. Or stay clear if the married ones, only one may be swinging. |

I’m separated. I have a decree nisi and am waiting for my ex to pull his finger out in the financials for us to get our absolute. We’ve been separated for 15 months, haven’t lived together in any of that time and I own my own home now. Am I to be avoided? |

I am divorced now 2 years.
I have also been single and not involved in anything remotely serious in 2 years.
So I consider myself single as single can get.
On paper I am divorced and single.I have single taxes also.

Separated 6 years now. Divorce is pending but it’s a ball ache over here But I’m stull single and not answerable to no one except myself and my daughter and my 3 boys and my three dogs and the tax man. But nevertheless. It’s all good |

Never been married and it'll never happen... I don't mind people who are separated though, if it's all over with it's over, a piece of extra paper isn't going to make much of a difference..

My answer would depend on the situation & context.
Filling in forms, I'll tick the divorced box.
If I'm asked, are you married? I'll answer, no very happily divorced.
If asked if I'm single, I'll say, yes.
I've lived a single life for 13yrs but I am still a divorcee. |

My fella is separated, i stop over at his very regularly and for lengthy periods. But yes on an NSA fuck sie i would rather avoid such people for the reasons you stated.
And yes it's a generalisation but i'm allowed to meet whoever i want, for all those questioning why i don't find you appealing or of interest. |

Have a look on the .gov site, they have an online divorce service and it's really quick. |

I consider divorced as a subset of single.
I’m separated. I consider myself single. Anyone who has spoken to me in person will know the chances of my husband and I ever having sex again.

I met a lass through the non vanilla life. She was very full on when we met and I was enjoying how things where going. I was always honest with her I'm separated, but the penny dropped and she bolted like a scolded cat! The last I heard was 'I didn't realize you are married'. I live on my own and can accomadate. I was gutted. So I've even written in my profile very clear about my status as I do belive a lot of women swerve for this reason. But I understand. So feel free to say hello those ladies that are not arsed with that piece of paper. Laters |

I always wonder this, especially when filling out paperwork. It feels a throw back to me of a time when marital status was everything in society. And a possibly a way to stigmatise divorcees. As far as I'm concerned I concluded the marital relationship side of my relationship with my ex when I divorced her. So as far as I'm concerned I was single after that. |

I’ve been divorced longer than I was ever married, but I don’t get the “divorced, single, separated” thing.
If I meet someone and they ask if I’m single, I reply with yes.
If they ask if I’ve ever been married I tell them that I’m divorced. |

Until I read this thread I’d never considered that someone who was divorced wouldn’t be considered single. I don’t understand why they wouldn’t be. For people my age I think it would be rare for someone not to have been in a lengthy relationship or marriage, probably with kids. |
