Think it's more a case of Indie is a little more subjective as to what defines it - whereas ska/mod/Two Tone is more clear cut and easy to name tracks as a result of chart success whereas the very ethos of Indie is it's not quite so mainstream

There are some excellent Skatalites compilations on CD worth looking out for. They put out a wealth of material during the early to mid 60s. Their output went down after about 1965, at the time Don Drummond was sent to prison for murdering his girlfriend Marguerita Mahmood. |
