Do manners make a difference?

I'm old school, and grew up in the 60s and 70s learning the benefits of good manners.
It saddens me to see a huge part of today's generation where "please" and "thank you" don't appear to exist in their vocabulary.  |

Me too. It’s terrible. I’ve always been so big on manners with my kids and they wouldn’t dream of not saying please thank you. I even find myself automatically saying to other people’s kids “what do you say” if they ask me something and don’t say please! |

It may be curt but its often best to be clear with people. Is it better than no reply? Well some say they would rather not get a no thanks its a waste of time others complain at no reply at all. If you soft soap people then they see it as an opportunity to keep exchanging messages what do you do? Do you know if you have a new profile and paste a long thanks but no thanks message admin will suspend your profile! Strange but that's apparently true. |

Personally, I think it's good to recognise those who do make an effort to respond to your messages, even if it's a "no thanks". I mean, how many others even make the effort to say "thanks, but no thanks"? |
