So we had a meal I have always cooked not often but every couple of months in the winter.
Saturday night special it’s always been called in our family, it’s a British take on mousaka
Beef instead of lamb
Potatoes instead of courgettes (sliced and part boiled)
Cheese sauce not yoghurt ( home made )
Layer the oven dish base with some of the potatoes, add some of the cheese sauce,
Then the mince, then cover the top with the sliced potatoes add the rest of the sauce..
Cook in hot oven 2 hours
The top goes black and crunchy
Then eat with fresh green veg |

I know some one does sausage casserole then tops it with mashed potatoe and sweet potatoe then cheese and does it like a cottage pie. |
