While there's certainly a lot of truth in this with some, it's not a hard and fast rule by any means; I've met lots of people who were conventionally "beautiful" who also had a sparkling personality, intellect and sense of adventure! Which is just as well as with only typical beauty going for them I wouldn't particularly have wanted to meet them in the first place.
On a personal level I like to think I'm likable enough, make an effort and can bring depth and imagination to any encounter and thus have the "persinality" bit cove_ed, but then again whilst "not completely twatted with the ugly stick" looking, I don't consider myself to be typically "beautiful"? |

I have a previous colleague like this, she's so stunningly beautiful. Amazing figure and hair, pretty face. But has the personality of a knat. She was plesent enough but she got the nick name of nice but dim |
