Can someone really be offended by a spelling mistake?
They may not like the way some messages are presented, but offended?
You would really need to be a complete snowflake to actually be offended. |

Spelling mistakes and the occasional grammar mishap does not bother us. But continues mistakes and a lack of grammar, builds a negative impression of the author. |

Yes some people are, we've been blocked because I'm dyslexic and my spelling and grammar isn't perfect, we we're told before being blocked so I pointed out the ' mistskes' on their profile. |

Anyone can misspell a word or two and that is not a problem.
However txt spk is just lazy and we would always ignore messages written in it.
Oh and anyone who uses "yous" or "yuz" as a plural for you (you would be surprised how many do) is on instant ignore. |

I’ve had people tell me my spelling am grammar are terrible.
But I lived where English wasn’t the main language till I was 11 and never finished school here.
I don’t work in an industry or job roll where there is any need for great written skills either.
Plus I beleive it’s sex and maybe conversation people want on here, not me to write them a dissertation |

"Is it time for the weekly spelling and grammar bun fight?
It would appear so "
Thursday is rant day.
Friday is spelling and grammar day.
Which days shall we pick for bareback, is it racist to (fill in as appropriate), single men, married men and The Clique?

Apparently yous or youse is an actual word, I looked it up a few months ago following a discussion with a Scottish person. Scottish use it a lot. |

First I heard that,so won't argue, what I do know,is to use the word "use" when asking two people is totally unacceptable in my book

And first I heard that use is acceptable in that context and I thought my English was very good. Learn something new every day! |

I think it’s unacceptable for a profile to have a lot of spelling mistakes and grammatical errors (couple of overlooked ones is fine). And at the risk of being controversial, even if the person is dyslexic as I think I little time and effort put in to the profile, use spell check and google words if necessary, shows the person is not lazy and wants to make a good impression. I’d prefer to see a well constructed profile with maybe a sentence that says I’m dyslexic so if we get chatting please be aware of this. |

If it takes me longer to read the message than it did for you to write it because it’s filled with typing errors and random numbers that you couldn’t be arsed to correct, then it’s going to be a short conversation. I see that as you just not being arsed.
As for dyslexia - the dyslexics I know on here have amongst the best written profiles, send long interesting messages and the errors they make are quite distinct, not just crap, lazy typing.
And breathe.. |

Continuous, lol
Mistakes like that, probably an autocorrect, don't matter. It's more really poor grammar I detest. Doesn't offend me, but we would delete the message without reading properly. Or spelling our are, that's currently the one that annoys me most. |

These threads make me smile. It’s all so pretentious.
They also remind me why we go to clubs. Nobody really gives a fuck in a club whether you can spell or not. |

most fundamental aspects |
Yous is certainly not a Scottish “word” it is dialectic; in a similar way as someone might say wales, yet spell it whales.
I can overlook the odd mistake or autocorrect. However even with the latter, do people not check what they have written before committing it to save/send? Even just a cursory glance should highlight things. |

It is not necessarily poor grammar, or poor spelling that causes me to skip over messages, I have the same reaction to radio broadcasters that constantly feel that better is pronounced with a silent t, me is a replacement for I or other possibly regional version of the English language.
Each infringement is like a gentle poke in the chest, it doesn't hurt, its only mildly annoying, but keep doing it and I will break your finger off and shove it somewhere only a little bit psychotic honest |

It seems to be used (or is it yoused? ) quite a lot in and around Liverpool as well. |

I'm Scottish, it's a colloquialism we have. Just a plural of You that covers anything from 2 people up to more than you can count, e.g. Youse doing anything tonight? |
