"I'm not really a gamer (these days) but am very much looking forward to this, looking like it will be released next year to mark the original Doom 2's 25th anniversary. I have seen gaming threads but none mentioning this? Is anyone else looking forward to Doom Eternal? I'm having a play through of the original Doom 2 for nostalgia's sake." The original doom 2.... 
I do have fond memories of the Original Doom in 1993/4 whilst I was a student. Booting my PC from a special floppy-disk with a tweaked config and running a 30m serial cable around the house so "network" two computers for a multi-player death match.
Seems odd that they'd celebrate Doom 2 rather than the actual original...
