And I thought this thread was about the roughly 80 percent of the mass that the universe is made up of.

The material that scientists cannot directly observe. This material is believed to be composed of non-baryonic matter. The lead candidate, WIMPS (weakly interacting massive particles), have ten to a hundred times the mass of a proton, but their weak interactions with "normal" matter make them difficult to detect.

If we can't detect dark matter how do we know it's in the rum .

I've often wondered if the missing matter is spacetime itself .
