yep, we knock all the MP's of any colour theses days, Cameron, Clegg, Milliband and plenty more.

But what would you do to make things better, politics less airy fairy debatey stuff and actually get things happening again?

Some ten years ago i listened with interest to a guy on the radio who made more sense in ten minutes than politicians have in 10 years. Asian taxi driver from Middlesbrough he was.

I'd vote him in as PM, Chancellor and Home Secretary all in one.

Oh, parliamentary guides to free porn for all ex Redditch MP's.

Take the hard working people from the factories, fire, police, medical, industrial work places and let them set the pace for the real people.

Another way is to make the MP's live on the same money the everyday family has to, so we are all equal.

It'll never happen I know, but worth a shot.

Too true, they often moan like f**k about their salaries, some £69,000 basic i believe. Not like anyone forces the job on them is it.

I have a cracking woman MP i must say and when she asked how i felt about breast feeding in the House of Commons, i said get me a guest pass and i'm ready when you are.

Firstly get a government together that can do their jobs ( IE experience in there departments for instance )

And not just a bunch of money grabbing plebs

Who couldn't run a piss up In a brewery

Pay them a bit above a normal wage ( yes there are a lot of intlegent people that would do the job for half of what the cretins are on now and make a better job of it)

Get straight out of Europe and tell them to get stuffed

And then get on putting this mess back together by investing In manufacturing base and getting rid of supermarkets and shopping centres

Thus putting shops and jobs back into the community

And therefore reducing the need for vehicle travel

Back to plain and simple xx

The "town councillors" are whinging, but you haven't consulted us.

Precisely, you're the bunch of "english persons" who've cause the situation.

in a former life I met a load of MP's, they are all certainly for themselves but eventually the project we were doing which needed considerable government funding got done because a local MP was in the cabinet and was basically a bully. The most ineffectual in as much as he always said what he thought you wanted to hear and then told everyone else what they wanted to hear too was a certain Mr Darling.

Abolish the monarchy, House of Lords etc not a personal grievance its what they stand for, besides they don't do anything.

Abolish private education, how can the rulers and the rich be really interested when the don't use it. All subjects in the national interest, university education to be free, subject to completing the course.

Tax all earnings that are earned in this country, live in the Cayman Islands if you want, but you pay tax like everyone else.

I better stop now, I could go on and on.

totally agree about the community approach, trouble is they have spent so long dismantling it and making us reliant on nanny state it is going to take some kind of effort to rebuild.

We don't need "big society" we need "small society". In the old days business owners would work their butts off to save the jobs of their employees cos they knew them and cared about them. Shareholders, nowt, just indifference and where's my divvy.

rant over.

How about dont waste money on speed bumps just leave the pot holes, once they get big enough people will slow down to stop damaging their car. Of course this could only really work in villages and built up areas. We can use the money saved to keep the major roads in good order and save money for the NHS as slower cars wont injure pedestrians so badly.

Its all very well saying that our leaders should live on the same wage as us, but all that brings is corruption.

The temptation is too great, MP's should be on good money, the PM should leave office a millionaire. He shouldn't have to suck up to businessman to ensure a livelihood after his term, his duty belongs to the country and the country should repay him.

But with one proviso, His memoirs can only be published after his death and taking bribes or any criminal activity should reap the heaviest sentences.

And of course there is nothing like that now then??

Ordinary intelligent people on Half the money the plebs are on now with a voted in group of ordinary people to observe and check on them would be much better

And there wouldnt be a shortage of takers either

Actually very little direct corruption, I'm not talking expenses, that's a red herring. Businessmen bill a lot more than a few porn films and its written off against tax.

The problem is the best people don't want the job.

You need to be a little better than ordinary to run the country.

Without an accurate detailed breakdown of the countries income (tax) and outgoings (schools, military, etc, etc) Its hard to make a start.

Against what measure. Things are not that bad, for the vast majority.

I live in the area that was flooded out in 2007, were there widespread deaths? How many deaths if the same floods hit Bangladesh?

Trim, actually cut like fuck the layers of management in NHS, Police and Fire services

and an across the board review of how the 'front line' staff would sort things out in their own field..

ditch 'targets' where people are just interested in ticking a box regardless of how the service is delivered..

Teachers to be able to teach, the fact that some kids leave primary school without basic literacy, spelling and numeracy is shocking..

bring back apprenticeships in what manufacturing we still have..

Renationalise the utilities and the railways..

Invest in our own coal resources instead of importing lesser quality and being reliant on gas from Russia etc..

Fully take over RBS or whichever bloody bank we all but own and use it to start loans to small businesses and stop people having to be shafted by loan sharks..

A fully elected 2nd chamber..

Scrap Trident and buy some aircraft carriers ..

Wishy, Governer of South Georgia

Jayne, UN General Secretary

Clarkson, Wishy's driver..

On that we will have to agree to disagree and comparing it to a country such as that is not a good comparison

A Home Among The Woodland Creatures

1. MP's pay to be increased to a level commensurate with a job of equivalent status in industry - we want to attract the brightest and best.

2. Abolish House of Lords - replace it with an elected house.

3. No MP is allowed to have any other job, be a member of a union, or trade or professional body, or sit as a board member for any other firm.

4. No MP may own any shares while serving.

5. All political donations are to be made anonymously - anyone caught revealing themselves as the source of a political donation will be subject to a minimum 5 year stretch in chokey - in the case of a business or union - all board members.

6. PROPORTIONAL REPRESENTATION

I'll probably think of more

Yes it is, but not for the reasons you're thinking.

Bangladesh is used to floods, so you'd think they'd be prepared.

Our government has very little experience of this, yet we cope. Why, because we have the resources. The army were distributing bottled water and bowsers within hours. No expense was spared in protecting and getting all electricity and mains water back on line.

One of the main reasons is the Bangladeshi government is one of the most corrupt in the world, nothing to do with poverty, nothing is done about it that's all.

1. MP's pay to be increased to a level commensurate with a job of equivalent status in industry - we want to attract the brightest and best. Definitely.

2. Abolish House of Lords - replace it with an elected house. With a proportion of technocrats.

3. No MP is allowed to have any other job, be a member of a union, or trade or professional body, or sit as a board member for any other firm. Yes

4. No MP may own any shares while serving. Yes, but these must be bought by the government at market value, stop transferring to loved ones.

5. All political donations are to be made anonymously - anyone caught revealing themselves as the source of a political donation will be subject to a minimum 5 year stretch in chokey - in the case of a business or union - all board members. On the contrary this should be completely open and non tax deductible and the donator/company must reside in the UK, and pay UK tax.

6. PROPORTIONAL REPRESENTATION Slight disagreement, I'd keep the lower house as it is, make the replacement for THOL PR.

I'll probably think of more

We kinda have ourselves to blame for what we have currently dont we?

A, "ohh dyou know i cant decide" split colition* government, that means we as people either cant commit to one party or we as people bought both super dynamic election campaigns and we ended up with what we deserve, a bit of this and a bit of that government,,marvelous.
