No, because I take my time getting to know people and having a reasonable level of sense that they are genuine before suggesting meeting - hasn't failed me yet.
Those that get catfished tend to be those that go straight to arranging a meet within a couple of short messages with profiles that have little detail - not saying that's always the case, or that my method is foolproof, but it's certainly a good guide. |

Sometimes they create a whole other persona to go with the pictures, some will be married and say they aren't,some will be men saying they're women and so on. |

If they're being used to show how the person looks now then yes they do - if they're just old pics on a profile with more recent ones also available then not necessarily |

No but I can see how it would happen. I mentioned the other day the excerpt from the circle that was on gogglebox. A young guy set himself up as a woman on line, another guy fell for it hook, line and sinker.
Cruel and humiliating but I think people are too ready to believe what's on the net if it seems to be what they want at the time. |
