So today I’ve woken up not feeling so great about myself, not that I really ever do but today even less so. I could happily sleep today away.

So what do you guys do to try & lift your mood when you’re feeling down?

Definitely agree with this, nothing to lift your mood like music. We all have rubbish days, just remember you're lovely and tomorrow is a new day x

Get out of the house. Distraction and a change of scenery can work wonders on shifting your mood. Visit a friend, go shopping, go to the cinema, wash the car, go to the library, just go for a walk .. anything but sitting and dwelling.

I get out in the fresh air. Hiking boots, waterproofs, a flask of coffee, some chocolate and off I go. A good walk never fails to lift my mood

The gym works for me but any exercise is good for lifting your move. Move and get those endorphins flowing

Sorry to hear chick! Hugs.

Different things really, long walk with the dog out in the countryside, meet up with a friend for a coffee/chat lunch. Gym usually helps me but my local ones burnt down. So gonna look up some online classes to do temporarily. I agree with the music and dancing, always a good start if you don't want to leave home yet. Might help pick you up.

Would definitely agree with getting out and about, go see a friend maybe. As a sufferer of low moods in the past, it does help and there's normally a reason for them, so unload on a close friend, they won't mind. Good luck.

I've been like this all week. I've tried to use fab as a distraction. Moved my living room around and done anything I could, not to think. It's helped somewhat... Though the low mood slips back in. A few weeks and I'm sure I'll be back to normal. That's what I keep telling myself, to try and make myself feel better

Try going for a walk. It always boosts my mood. More so if it is in woods/around nature.

Agree on the dancing in socks - have it large and enjoy yourself

Also meditation helps me, really resets my mind and brings me back into the now.

Lot of cyclists in here. Must be the new dogging I guess, lol.

Anyway, seriously, when I'm in a low place, get up, put sock and underwear in dryer for 5 minutes. Shower, hot as I can stand it, shampoo conditioner and oil beard (even if only done the day before. The smell is cathartic to me).

Get out of shower, put on warmed socks and undies - because... Well it's lush.

Find food. If it all looks "shit" go out to find foods. Double sausage muffin with no egg and a hash brown is usually a good bet.

Stay away from social media for a few hours.

Carry on day as normal (or not). Retail therapy maybe added in too dependent on how bad.

It doesn't always work. Sometimes I'm too low to do anything at all, but force my self onto "auto pilot", but worth a shot.

Know it's probably too late but hope it helps in the future for OP or anybody else.

London/Essex... ish... Romford to be exact

Get shitfaced. Doesn't always work very well though I find.

Lately I have tried light retail therapy. New gym wear or a new shirt for work. Maybe you could go get your nails/brows/lashes done.

As others have said, exercise can help. For me I don't do it for the immediate gratification rather I like to focus on reaching a goal and seeing progress for all my efforts in the gym.

Finally, you could try 5htp supplements. Cheap online or can get immediately from Holland and Barrett. Not a medicine so no prescription required. Not to be used with any other medication like antidepressants though so please do your own research if necessary.

Oh I forgot, SAD lamp is an idea for those who hate these gloomy long nights. Haven't any experience of these myself but seems no harm in trying.

All the best.
