Do you sleep well or struggle?
Jump to: Newest in thread
I used to really struggle, was such a light sleeper & permanently tired. Then I was diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnoea (muscles in my throat relax too much & stop me breathing). I now have a cpap machine & sleep like a log most nights

"We both struggle
Even splashed out over £1000 on a new mattress which made no difference at all
What mattress is it? "
John Lewis natural collection.
Now with added feather topper to try to see if that was any better.
Don’t buy one, they’re rubbish.

I got the online only Leesa one when I bought my new house and it's incredibly comfortable! Not bad for under £600 for the king size. |

"Extremely shit just now! Cheap mattress in temp accommodation, dreaming of getting back to my own bed
Have you tried a memory foam mattress topper?"
I've only got another 2 weeks (hopefully) to stick it out, my two mattresses are in storage and can't wait to get them back! Will be pure bliss, orgasmic even |

I tried one and liked it (but not the price). I got one for less than half the price from Ikea in the end, and it’s pretty good so far. |

"I’m a terrible sleeper, a mix of insomnia and hot sweats means I get little quality sleep and I’m permanently tired x "
I understand the sweats, bloody menopause, sitting naked in the front room now and still sweating, I go to sleep with rain storms playing on my phone, ie helps me but if I wake during the night I find it hard to get back to sleep again x storm x

I vary - sometimes it's fairly poor and others it's great.
Watch your blue light intake during the evening and potentially aim to be less ambitious with your life, so that the quality of your rest as well as your life is improved |

If I am honest, I have struggled with sleeping early at night times for a few years, sometimes take sleeping medicine to fall asleep.
I find i am much more alive night time than day time.
Slept at a meeting once how embarrassing. |

I’m glad they discovered that so your sleep is safer and better now. |

"Having problems at the moment with sleeping.
I've got a busy mind that doesn't want to stop worrying and getting all anxious. "
I hope it gets better. Have you tried mindfulness or even an audio book. It might help you relax more. |

I only sleep about 3-4hrs a night, but when I'm out, I'm out.
I had sleep tests done when I was younger as my parents were worried I wasn't breathing.
My brain function test results, showed the same activity you'd find in a comatose patient.

Since becoming single I had to adjust to not sleeping alongside a heavy snorer with sleep apnoea. I’d spent so long sleeping in interrupted bursts that my body didn’t know what to do.
I can’t fall asleep in the silence. I need to have a podcast playing. However, I’m happy to report once I drop off I sleep like a log until it’s time to get up. |

I have an off switch, when my body decides it’s sleep time ping and I’m gone. Once asleep I hear absolutely nothing until I’m ready to wake up. I also dream a lot and have excellent dream recall, that can actually be a pain sometimes |

Sleep isn’t my friend at the moment and hasn’t been for ages, I’d like to switch the grief and brain button off for a few nights! Would make such a difference! This is where being single sucks, no neck to sniff for that safe, content feeling, lol. |

If I struggle I have a white noise app I use. Blocks out all other noise and sounds. I thought it would be too obtrusive to sleep but after a while it becomes very relaxing and helps me drift off. |

The last few months have been terrible for sleep. Due to shortages at work I’m regularly working 16 hour shifts days and nights up to 5 times a week. After a 16 hour night shift I’ll go to bed by 06.30 and be wide awake at 11. I just can’t seen to unwind. |
