.....are okay, until two hours in you’re talking to your mate about his divorce settlement, while you’re dressed as Hong Kong Phooey !

What have you gone dressed as and what situations have you got into, while you’ve been in fancy dress ?

Try looking sympathetic and interested, dressed as a dog in a dressing gown with an eye mask !

I once dressed up as Grandma's Cabin from Little Red Riding Hood... And it was all well and good, until part of the party moved into my costume! It got a bit messy...

Another time me and a friend went in a joint suit as Zaphod Beeblebrox, leaving me with just one arm for the evening. Lots of fun was had, though!

I was once dressed as a burlesque dancer (Moulin Rouge style) and ended up being dragged into a conversation about childbirth. Not having children myself, I had nothing to input into the conversation, but whenever I tried to walk away, one of them would make a comment about how I was lucky I've never had to be ripped apart

I once made a spectacular medusa costume with wire snakes sticking out all over the place. We went from the party to a nightclub and the bouncer said my snakes were too dangerous and I had to take them off.

I went from awesome costume to crap green faced witch in seconds

I've dressed up once, as a sexy piratess.

Every time I moved my skirt rode up and my boobs kept threatening to fall out and I didn't feel very sexy.

It was at a family Halloween/Firework party.

I'll never dress up again.

I hate dressing up.

I once dressed up for sports relief for charity, when I turned up to work dressed up as the grown up version of Stephanie from lazytown kids show complete with pink hair wig etc. No one else had dressed up only idiot spent all day fielding racy comments from male staff members ha ha was funny later after a few glasses of wine..

I once had a brush with death, dressed as the bottom half of a horse, playing d*unken games in a bouncy castle. It collapsed on top of me when a collection of cowboys and girls and bizarrely a gnome jumped on the turrets, I was lost and buried and trying not to panic, breathing some escaping air from a seam until someone noticed one of my hooves sticking out, hilarious looking back on it, but scarey at the time and what a way to go lol

The only times I've done fancy dress is at swingers parties

My favourite was little red riding hood and my partner was dressed as the big bad Wolf
