"Although we like to think it’s Waitrose"
Disagree with Lidl - although it's cheap, it still stocks quality merchandise. It certainly isn't Waitrose! |

"Too close to ASDA for comfort
Yes, downmarket and full of chavs"
Asda is Awful, I’ve never seen so many unhealthy looking people wearing track suits. Must be wearing them ironically ! |

"Iceland.... you get your hopes up it's gonna be good but usually isn't and everything is cold"
Haha, true, but then again it is full of stuff that you don't want now but can save for later |

"Tesco 'Express' "
The Express version is definitely true... And wasn't one of Tesco's slogans "everything you want from a store and a little bit more?" |

I was just thinking of me.
Every time I walk in Missy Elliott -1 minute man, is playing.
I swear to god the store dj must be watching me walking up the street.
Oh well, at least it's not the security guard |

There and to the left a bit |
Tesco would fit the bill - has it's value range for the less discerning, Finest for those that want something a little classy, and plain normal for everything else.
Plus the acronym for its Florence And Fred clothing has a resonance |

Spar.
Looks Dated, a bit hot at times near the hot food counter, often has a lot of tat that even poundland won't carry, but now and then they carry then exact thing you're looking for and its only a quid more than the supermarket that's a ten minute walk away. |

Tesco, roughly around 8pm when the reduced stuff gets labelled.
Reasons:
Loads of people in a mad rush when something new becomes available.
Hardly any "proper" checkouts open, so it's all electronic, with very little actually face to face communication.
Fridges are half empty from things that have gone but not been stocked up again.
Plenty of pissed off people who don't get what they want due to not enough to go around...

Yes one of the PoundLand type stores.
On first look the price makes you want to look further to get a bargain but when you have made your selection there is a very long queue to pay as it is self service only now. When you get home and take off the wrappers you find you have been cheated cos the "goodies" are half the size of the pics. |
