Each to there own personally i think if your 19st+ and look like you have been hit in the face with a spanner smoking isn't gonna make you look sexy at all

Yes, lets call it quits. I didn't smoke for over 20 years till I was diagnosed as one of those cancer patients ..... I figured if I was going to go I might as well go enjoying myself so took it up again. |

where do you think the goverment would recover the millions they make in tax every year from tobacco products if everyone stopped smoking?

Smoking is one of the biggest causes of cancer and heart problems ..millions and millions spent every year...
that money could be going on other things ...better things ...please don't try justifying smoking ..... |

what im saying is fact, they make far more money out of the sale of tobacco products than they spend on smokers every year

why do you think its illegal to buy fags from people who bring them in from other countries? because they care about your health? yeah right, its cause they not had tax paid on them and they want you to buy them from the shops so they make money

The government does raise billions more taxing tobacco related goods than it expends on the NHS tobacco related illnesses.
They could stop it all immediately by categorising tobacco as a class A drug and outlawing it, but they won't they raise too much money through it.
So us nicotine junkies will continue paying for all and do the government another favour by shuffling off this mortal coil a few years earlier so saving them more by not paying us our pensions. |

It`s a vicious circle isn`t it? You have people who were smoking many years ago when smoking was the done thing - it "did you good"! Well all of those people are the ones we are spending our tax on now. Those who are "new" smokers will want help in 20/30 years time and so on! |

What about all the tax they have paid?
Tobacco tax on top of all the other taxes everyone pays. Currently over 76% of the money for a pack of cigarettes is tax. |
