Are you one?

I just love food, from street food, KFC/BK/Subs to the finest 3-star Michelin.

Nope I like all sorts of food.

I am a pretty decent cook, so I do complain if I go somewhere and its not up to scratch though.

Sometimes, I'm just as happy with supernoodles or beans on toast, or Maccy D's etc.

Some of the best food I have ever tasted is from street vendors in Asia...

Cheap as it comes, but as enjoyable and as memorable as many meals we have had at top resturants.

BUT....when it comes to Indian food, I only ever go one particular Indian resturant and won't settle for anywhere else.

I admit to being a food snob, if I pay for something that I know I can cook better myself I feel cheated and will complain. I go out and pay for a nice dinner as an indulgence occassionally so I want to be indulged.

The land of grey peas and bacon

I love to cook and bake so I like decent Ingredients.. my mum always made a home cooked dinner. We went to some great resturants when we used to go out for dinner... I love going out for dinner but as long as its good food I am happy..

I have never asked for a refund at a restaurant, perhaps I had been lucky with my menu choices.

If I do not like the food/service/whatever, I shall not leave a tip and definitely shan't be going back!

And if I am asked how is everything for me, I shall tell the truth.

If i leave my food because it's not right I will negotiate a proportionate price to pay. However if I enjoy my food I am the first to thank them compliment them and tip them.

I am a bit, but from an very unusual source.

I work shifts so I often go to the supermarket when the reduced counter, is full of good stuff. The first place I go to be honest.

I've bought things like duck breasts, rib eye steak etc for like 50p. Stock the freezer up with these goodies.

Its hard to get used to spam again after eating these things.

I am not a food snob, in fact I'm not really that interested in food (I know that's hard to believe looking at me). My idea of a great night out would not be sat in a restaurant, I'd rather be going to clubs and loud lively places. I'd rather spend my money doing that.

My parents are food snobs though so I have been in some nice restaurants and had lovely tasting food. In fact my christmas lunch this year is at a michelin star restaurant. Whilst the food tastes a million times better and there is no comparison to fast food, I'm really not that bothered.

I don't buy cheap food because I do care about my family's health and I don't fry foods etc, I go to regular supermarkets though, buy within my means, I don't do my weekly shop at Harrods.

In New York where its full of the most fantastical restaurants, my fave food is the hot dogs from the carts sold on every street corner, along with one dessert only restaurant I've been to

Not all good food is expensive it just knowing how to cook it.

A lot of the best tasting meats, brisket, lamb shanks, oxtails are as cheap as chips, but take three hours or so to cook, but well worth the effort.

.

Eh, they are not so cheap anymore!

I can't get brisket from my local farm shop, unless by special arrangement.

Likewise with beef tendons, which is a key ingredient in the Chinese brisket stew that I love to make. The tendons give the stew a nice rich gloss and taste, yum yum!

The chilli I am making has been simmering since 18:30h, and should be ready soon.

I'm rubbish at cooking so am impressed by those of you who know how to cook good meals. I need someone to teach me!

I'm not that bothered where I eat... I've been to horribly posh places but I'm just as happy eating at a Harvester or going for a Ruby.

Often the company is more important to me than the food. I've enjoyed it more when I've gone out with friends and we've just gone to a pub or a chain such as Chiquito's or Frankie & Benny's... if I'm enjoying the company of the person / people I'm with, then the quality of the food isn't important.

I don't like Pizza Hut or Domino's pizza though, so would draw the line at that.

For me quality over quantity every time so maybe. Dont like fast food, hate eating out of cardboard or with plastic knives and forks or food that you just arent sure what the hell it is! Give me a lovely ambiance and beautifully presented meal and Im happy. I love to cook too. If that makes me a food snob then so be it! Yum!

Hahaha... reminds me of going on a school exchange to France as a nipper and seeing the parents filling up the bottle of Volvic from the tap!

I like good honest food from all corners of the globe.

Not keen on a la carte / michelin starred stuff tho.

Give me fish, chips and peas any day rather than something along the lines of :

'line caught pan fried sea bream wrapped in proscuitto on a bed of wilted leaves and fennel, served with crushed potatoes and a whale spunk jus'

when i see summat like that i think fish in bacon, fancy mash and summat 'funky' on it

there won't be a lot of it and i'll end up having a toast when i get home too

I just love homecooking. Not into cooking per say but do it cos it's better than any "ready" stuff.

If I eat out it has to be authentic, but have been known to visit burger king on the run.

So I suppose no, not a food snob.
