Apparently dinner, the main meal, was historically at lunch time and then the posher people moved it to the evening as a status symbol because they could afford to socialise after dark.....not sure I believe that.
Anyway if yer posh and southern its dinner not tea. |

It's the meal after breakfast. If you eat between them times it's called brunch. Have you heard of that x"

I said this to my OH.
If it's lunch then why call the people who help in the school canteens Dinnerladies?
Or at least they used to before it got all pc and now they're probably food operatives |

It actually depends on the food served for me.
So main meal followed by evening snack or sandwich is dinner and tea,
Samller lunch followed by mail meal is lunch and dinner. |
