To cancel a meet as it can really piss people off

E.g: I just cancelled my insurance policy before it started as I found a better deal and I got hit with a £40 cancellation fee

Yeah, I did that once, £25, I was so furious!!!

But 24 hrs notice is the least I would consider the decent thing to do.

I agree. At least that so they can search for another possible meet. Unless sudden illness or family issues arise that are out of your control

Depends on circumstances. I was supposed to meet someone yesterday for a coffee but my daughter was ill and off school. Some things come first and can’t be helped.

Sure, I might excuse them if they or their next of kin are hospitalised!
