I’ve had to take all off my face pics this morning as I had an unwanted friends request on Facebook, when I asked how do I know you he replied that he’d seen me on fab ,very creepy I’ve blocked him on Facebook and changed my pic on there to one not showing my face .I was wondering if anyone else had had this happen to them as I find it slightly creepy xx

It hasn't happened to us. Did the guy have your number or did you use the same face picture on here and Facebook?

There are loads of people who have no idea about discretion. Sorry this happened to you.

This is not good and yes very creepy, not only is the person a moron for not keeping things in fab, but also there guilty of face book stalking, and that is now a criminal offence. So yes creepy indeed, best of luck x x

Nobody should be adding you on facebook without permission. It's wrong but if face pics are public it makes it so easy for people to find you. If you have a single acquaintance with that person then it could be as easy as seeing you in the 'people you may know' section. There have been a few people in the past who have asked me for pics before meets, received the pics and then refused to send one back even though they still want to meet but have been easy to find because they've done something like use their real names on kik. I'll admit that I've had a check so that I am fully sure I don't recognise anyone but would never act. It's more about ensuring my own safety/privacy before acting on anything.

Don’t think it’s the first time it’s been mentioned that people have seen friends suggestions on FB of people on FAB.

Wondering if maybe it’s a suggestion based simply on both people visiting this site? Cookies etc. Although I do think it’s a little creepy!

I don’t have it though so your safe!

That's terrible. Some dicks just haven't a clue. I did happen to spot a lady on Twitter from here but I obviously left her alone.

It could be as Probably101 has suggested re cookies then. I spoke to one lad, had no mutual friends with him and a few weeks after chatting amd swapping pics he was on my friend suggestions. Took me a while to realise who it was. Unfortunately some people don't exercise good common sense and won't see why it's inappropriate to add you. I've had men message me and ask me to contact women for them who have filters up stopping them from being able to contact them directly themselves. Obviously I made my excuses but it means some people won't be respectful.

I've had some random people add me recently but I'm not sure where they've added me from... I did have a sneaky suspicion they found us on here and added me (Tegan) on Facebook. May take our names down from here to give us less chance of being added

I think that with the way people can cross reference, and use google/google pics check, and other social media, it's easy to use a picture more than once, and, not that difficult to become an online detective.

It's intrusive and we all hope, people have some moral fibre or follow a respectful code, but that's placing too much trust in people.

Avoid using face pics, don't repeat using pics, across other social media, remember (facebook/linkedin/twitter/instagram)are all owned by same company.....

I'd also say, if confronted by some idiot, like you've mentioned, don't engage with them.

Doesn’t surprise me. I had a bad experience when I had face pics up a while ago. Learnt my lesson, changed profile and now never have them up and only rarely send them. Always advise others to be wary of using face pics too.

Once they are anywhere on the web you lose control of them.

I'm not a tech expert however the way various apps invade your contacts and other media then communicate with other apps is very worrying..

Some folk are very savvy when it comes to the intrrweb.. and it doesn't surprise me that folk are found on other more vanilla social media platforms.

Lock down your facebook privacy settings to the highest level you can..I don't do faceache so can't say how.. if the person persists report to the relevant folk.

I had a couple of messages on messenger a while back. I made sure never to use the same face pictures on Facebook and fab. I've never had an issue since. My Facebook is on the highest privacy settings. So I'm not easy to find

Why do people have public face pics if they don't want to be recognised?
