First up get yourself a douche from Lovehoney or similar and use it before any anal play.
Make sure any nails are not too long and are smooth/filed.
You've not said what kind of anal play you're contemplating OP but remember there is no such thing as too much lube!! Apply liberally using fingers, gently easing them in - also apply it to any toys or other things (!!) you may be inserting.
Take it slowly and at the pace of the recipient, if they say withdraw then withdraw!!
As the recipient get as comfortable as possible beforehand and try to relax.
Start off with one finger, then when the recipient is ready move onto two etc - if you're talking toys or cock then move onto them only when the recipient is ready and again take it slowly.
