How long you got..... think the one where he had told me he had been to the dogs ... meaning the racing and had actually been to a greedy girl night and met me after smelling of chlorine
A single guy friend of ours let it slip in conversation the truth |

I think the small lies were worse than the really big ones but the big ones were the dumbest because they were bound to be discovered. |

It's the Kim Philby method. He said even if they have photographic evidence of you doing something, deny it. Eventually it makes you start to doubt yourself. |

My ex was a pathological liar, and always managed to turn things round onto me, making me to be the one in the wrong, feel guilty for doubting/questioning him.
I actually thought at one point I was loosing my mind.
Too many lies to list, but the biggest has got to be that he was mugged on the way back from the bank having just drawn out a very large sum of cash to pay the employees, was so traumatised he couldn't think straight so ended up in the pub til closing time, and totaly forgot to call the police.

you have to laugh.
One spectacular one wasn't told to me but the manager of our bank. I won't go in to exact detail but it involved having to get his parents out of a country that had recently come under the control of a dictator and him borrowing a lot of money on the strength of that. His parents were staying in our house at the time. |

Haha. My dad once accused my mum when checking their phone bill about a number he didn't recognise. It was several weeks later when I found out and had to point out it was my landline. And it was him who called me to try and sort out a computer issue. Not embarrasing much... |

Before I met Mr K I briefly went out with a guy who was in his words 'all about the truth'. He said he was 39 but then mentioned he had watched the 1970 Mexico world cup in the school hall and how brilliant it was...it meant he was about 10 years older than he'd said.
He also said he was a private chef and travelled the world on tour with bands and on yachts and he said he owned a 5 bed house in East London. Turned out he worked in 'spoons as a barman and rented a bedsit above the pub.
When I called him out on his lies and finished with him he said he had ambitions and so it wasn't lying...

Mine wasn't an alcoholic but I realised after he walked away after 5 months with no reason that his whole persona was a lie. He carefully found out everything I wanted in a man and pretended to be that man. He seems to find a "special person" victim each year on here and changes persona to fit what they want. |

Not me, but an friend had been dating a guy who said he was a widower. However after a couple of messages from another female she did a bit if digging. The next time the guy showed up she caught him off guard with "Glad to see your dead wife got better. Must have been hard for her getting that promotion last week"

Went out with a guy that told me his wife had died of a brain tumour & that he couldn’t invite me over as her parents lived with him as they wanted to be near where she died and keep him company!! The story was very detailed and went on for months......I was only 18 at the time and our first date was the same day my Grandma had died!! He picked me up literally as I’d taken the phone call from my Dad!! Told him I wouldn’t be in a very good mood and that my grandma had just died of a brain tumour.......and his bullshit started from that second onwards lol!!
Bizarrely, his wife wasn’t dead!! And even more bizarrely 10years later myself and the not so dead wife ended up being acquaintances via some mutual friends.....I never told her what he had said as she had already divorced him and was married to someone else!! Plus then, I’d have had to admit sleeping with her ex husband whilst she was married to him and that type of conversation never ends well......

The dumbest lie my ex told was when I'd questioned a very obvious lie of hers, and as she was trying to squirm out of it she said, "Yeah, but no, but..".
I said to her, "Did you actually just say, yeah but no, but?". Of course she lied and said, "NO!", and then tried to convince me she hadn't said what I'd just heard.
Being with a pathological liar is fabulous fun! |

Wasn't exactly a lie, but he 'forgot' to tell me he had a child.
He only told me when I asked about a photo when I was at his house otherwise I'd probably never have known.
Unsurprisingly we didn't last long.
I will stress not because he had a child. |

Lots of lying is disgusting. It hurts people and causes them to doubt themselves.
We all lie, it's what oils the wheels of social interaction. "Pleased to meet you" falls easily from your mouth even though sometimes you're anything but. It's the big and small lies with the intent to manipulate that cause the damage |

* Let's go to the travel agents and pick any destination. Money no object because I won a big bet.
Reality: he was a brickies labourer on £250 a week before tax and there was no bet!
*same ex... I own this riverside apartment with two balconies and all the mod cons.
Reality: that Apartment belongs to his parents and he sleeps in their spare room.
* same ex... I'll always love and look after you babe.
Reality: he stalked me, wanted to know where I was at all times. Before we lived together he used to turn up on my doorstep uninvited and unannounced every day. Even randomly turn up with his son and expecting him to stay and me cook/feed the pair of them without even asking beforehand.
Tried making me give up my career, banned me from using public transport, sent abusive text because I took 10 mins to reply to his text... why? He didn't want any man talking to me, didn't want any man sitting next to or near me on public transport and I work in construction so he didn't want that career to continue.
Oh he ripped up my dresses, took my phone off me every time we went to bed and before i used the bathroom. Smashed up my bedroom and tried to use a thick heavy folder to smash down onto my head. My son walked into the room as he was in mid-swing. That was the final straw. I ended it and told he to leave before I called the police.
But apparently he says he's a nice guy who would adore and care for me!

He told me and two other women he cheated on me with, the same lies too.... How did it go.... Oh yes "I've never been in love before, I've never taken a woman home to meet family, I see in my crystal ball that you'll be my wife in a few years". I heard that in September 2012, I remember it like yesterday. I loved him & he broke my heart when he cheated. |

I did for awhile. He would call but not say why he was calling. Kept doing it so I blocked him in the end. Then his parents called me asking for their t.v. back! . Turned out the tv set he gave me as a gift was his parents! He had taken out of their spare room without permission.
He hasn't told his parents why I broke up with him. After I told then everything, they told me I could keep the t.v. as a apology gift from them. I told them they had nothing to apologies for. I told them their son needs professional help and left it at that. Next heard from any of them again.
I've seen on social media he's married with another child. I wasn't surprised because he kept pestering me to marry him and have another baby! I wonder if he's violent to his wife. So far I've kept out of it. Should I of? |
