Take them walking with a borrowed dog- clearing up after it themselves. I promise they will get over wanting a dog then.

Anywhere it doesn't matter. If you disappear for a bit they don't half get mad but they're a bit easier to deal with for a week .

My brother's used to come home with goats, geese and Shetland ponies. My mum would have been grateful for a donkey

Northampton Somewhere

2/3 of mine were desperate for a dog. I told them they would have to take it for a walk before school and pick it's poo up. Also that I'd have to give up work to look after it and so therefore wouldn't be able to afford things for them anymore!

It seems to have worked ~ for now.

Hmmmm it’s being with Dad today that’s caused the problem funnily enough. The child is normally no trouble so it’s a bit of a shocker when I get the opposite

Maybe because you offer safety, so if something has happened or bothering them when they see you they let it all out, aka you get it in the neck

I sincerely hope not, I think we have first week back at school tiredness included in mix, so probably an isolated incident

My daughter is pooped this week and she was only in for 4 days as she didn't start back til Tuesday,I've just picked her up from her first ever job in a restaurant as well so now looks completely dead. They grow up fast."

Awwwwww bless her, did she enjoy work?

*That run

See I’m that traumatised I can’t type

We get divorced and send them to their Dad’s house some nights

She did thankfully and was told she did well on her first day,her feet are battered though as she wore some new shoes and they rubbed her. She feels all grown up now,it's good for her to earn some pennies of her own.

She wasn't impressed when I told her we need to come to some financial arrangement when I take and pick her up as it's costing me to take her to work.

Never send a child into a shop with a note to buy something for pennies. You'll never see the change, unless you crowbar it from them
