So annoying that after chatting for a few days with a couple and them arranging a time and place. I take half a day off and they don’t show and don’t reply to messages

Sorry to hear that my friend, very frustrating I’m sure!

How much due diligence did you do? How long had you been chatting etc?

I hope you get better luck next time!

Everyone knows if a couple don't turn up for a meet, it was just a single guy behind the profile

Aw sorry to hear that OP. It’s a rotten thing to have happen to you. Hope you have better luck next time. Don’t let it put you off.

I didn't make that comment to make the OP feel bad.

It was a joke about how everything bad on fab is a single man's fault.

Central

Agree a communication plan leading up to the meet, especially if there are costs, work impacts etc, so you're better prepared if they fail to adhere to their commitments. It's reasonable to have notification the day before the meet.

Speak on the phone or cam with both of the attendees

If they no show, report to admin. Learn all you can from each failure.
