When anyone puts this in their Profile, What are they actually stating ? They get paid for swinging, have a full time job or watch box sets of Fraiser ?

It could mean a number of things.

I would assume they worked

Oh. Op. It’s professional.

It probably shouldn't but it always annoys me, I'll just seems like they're trying to elevate themselves above other somehow. I'm probably wrong for a lot of people but that's how it comes across in my mind.

I’ve always interpreted it as they have a white collar job, rather than a blue collar job. Although I do appreciate that many of the professions are blue collar!

Some people prefer either a white / blue collar type of chap, for example, so I see it as a descriptor!

It might be that my interpretation is different to others though and so then the phrase does indeed become meaningless if it means different things to different people!

I often see discrete proffesional. I assume that's a white collar worker who comes in separate components.

Southport

Probably works in an environment where discretion is a must. As someone earlier pointed out, they can probably spell it too.
