Mr P has set me cleaning... I’ve persuaded him that if I am to do the best job then I need a new vacuum.

Apart from the obvious response... does anyone have a Dyson cordless and what’s your honest opinion?

Is it worth the dosh?

Problem with vacuum cleaners is that an EU directive came into force that they have to be under a certain wattage which means its a lot harder to get suction power.

Have a "Miele Complete C2 cat and dog" vacuum ... no, it does not hoover up cats and dogs, but it does hoover up just about everything else.

Miele's are expensive but are good in my opinion.

No. Overpriced, plastic tosh.

You want a real vacuum cleaner that’ll last you years ?

Kirby.

Don’t buy new they’re outrageously expensive.get a Sentria 2 or Avalir off FB/Gumtree. (£100-300). It’ll outlast any other cleaner by years. They’re not bright and sexy but they’re awesome machines.

God I’m sad ! Perving and recommending vacuum cleaners all in one hit

Shark cordless? Interesting to meet someone with such a passion. Why would you recommend that one ?

I have. Paid a fortune for it and it’s useless! I use it just for everyday hoovering. But I always seem to go back to Henry whatever I buy!

Just looked these up- and although your passion has me very excited ( I know!)- I am finding uprights and ones with cords are pulling on my back too much. Do Kirby do one?

Hey babes- I hope you’re well?

Do you mean that they don’t suck much or that they don’t hold a lot of dirt?

Don't have a cordless Dyson but I've had a corded Dyson for years. Been a great hoover and still works great now after many years use.

I've got a fwb who also sucks like a Dyson

We have the same, binned our Dyson when we needed to renew after he took his factory to the other side of the globe..

Also got a British made Henry which is great for cars and tidying up after DIY stuff but will go with the quality we have found with the mielle again..

Important not to go by the look

Check wattage

Suction power

Weight

Etc etc etc

Loads of googling / which reports / best buy reports

Maybe even hire or borrow one first

We have two Henry's, faultless and simply the best. I like things with proper names too.
