generally speaking, I always go round to collect my, ahem, envelopes.
It's much more personal.
'I remember on several occasions that prior to a meeting with Mr X, Mr Y would make a remark... that he was coming to collect his money and would prepare an envelope for him with a bundle of £2,500 (in) notes in my presence.'
