I do hoover my mattress a couple of times a year.
I have been sitting here for the past week looking at the shoebox thinking, you need a spring clean. You know all they bits you forget, skirting boards, doorframes, doors, lightshade etc etc.
But just cant seem to get the energy to do it.

As for matresses, i have a matress protector on my bed so dont hoover it everytime i do the bedroom and change the bed but hoover the matress about every six weeks i guess and i change the bedding once a week.
When i was about 14 we did a project at school and saw all these bedbugs magnified put the heeby jeebies up me |

This is what i do, apart from the kitchen which gets done everyday. I do each room "well" once a week which includes skirting boards, door frames de cobwebing and the rest of the time just keep it tidy. Oh and just wipe the toilet bath and shower out after each use and stick cleaner down the loo once a day and you should keep on top of it.
I dont do all the rooms same day just as i go along |

When i was quite poorly with my ocd i used to go round sniffing carpets and i would hoover up to ten times aday. My ex husband on quite a few occasions has had to pack us up to stay with his sister over night cause i would use so much bleach the house would be completly overpowered. But knowing now that i can happily sit and relax and not care if there is stuff all over the table or pots in the sink means i know im better |

I started having a bloody good clear out week before last, managed a fair bit...dragged shelves upstairs...dragged drawer unit downstairs but a couple of the rooms got to that 'worse before they're better' stage.... unfortunately I overdid it and me back'n'leg was fooked after. It's been a bugger now trying to get on top of it again lol! still not there
