Currently I am struggling to get fit, I love cycling but don't seem to be able to do anything about it.
I used to race in my early 20's, I trained or raced everyday.
I went out this year for a few rides to get ready for the London to Brighton bike, but didnt get usual good feeling that comes from a decent work out afterwards.
Not sure if that has something to do with it or not.
Any ideas would be gratefully received, as I have signed up for the ride london but that isn't getting me motivated. |

Does it have to be cycling? Maybe a change is what you need? 5 a side football? Running? Spinning classes? Maybe you’ve become subconsciously disillusioned with cycling so a new challenge would do the trick? |

Try to find someone to cycle with will help. And afraid the age thing could be an issue, expecting to feel and do the same as when we were younger is sure way to be disappointed.
As already mentioned try other things, again the age thing means needing to do all round exercise. |

Put yourself in situations where your forced into it, go out with your bike and no money on you so that you have no choice but to cycle home, get dropped off a couple miles from your destination so that you gotta walk the rest of the way |

Thanks for the advice.
Cycling I still have a passion for, as I have done it for so long. I still get the sense of achievement when I get up a hill, where before I walked up.
Just missing the buzz.
I do airsoft and paintball, but running about takes me a week to recover.
I know old age, don't remind me |
